George’s Gourmet Kitchen makes a lot of products. Some are seasonal, like jams and fruit butters, others are unusual and don’t fit into any easy category. They end up here.
Plum Butter – Thick and Fruity
For this thick fruit butter we’ve mixed ripe Kodaikanal plums with a light portion of organic, raw sugar and a hint of fresh ground cinnamon. It makes a great spread for your morning toast or a delicious topping for ice cream, yogurt or dessert puddings. Not too sweet. Very flavourful.

Plum Jam – With Ginger and Anise
This tart, fruity jam is made from ripe Kodaikanal plums, with a hint of ginger and speckled with star anise. Delicious on toast. It’s also a very good substitute for cranberry sauce. Refrigerate after opening.

Picnic Relish – Sweet and Sour
This light, lively relish is an excellent addition to any sandwich, hotdog, burger or luncheon item. We make this garnish from an old family recipe. It has crisp pickled vegetables and is mildly sweet and sour. Kids and adults love it!

Hot Chilli Paste – Naturally Fermented
This hot chilli paste is produced by natural fermentation in a process similar to Korean kimchi. Organic fresh red chillies are combined with natural sea salt and then aged. Nature does the rest. Very hot and flavourful!

Bitter Orange Marmalade
This marmalade is a careful balance of sweet and bitter. Heavy with orange peel, it is very very English. It is adapted from an old recipe that my English grandmother loved. If you are a fan of marmalade you must try this one!
